KISS AND DEF LEPPARD TO MAKE "MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT" ON MARCH 17

KISS and Def Leppard are calling a press conference for March 17 in Los Angeles to make a “major announcement.” Though there’s no official word, a source close to one of the bands tells ABC News Radio that KISS and Def Leppard are planning a summer co-headlining tour, set to kick off in late June and go through the very end of August.

Though it’s being billed as a co-headlining tour, the source tells ABC News Radio that KISS will be the closing band on all dates. There is speculation that the tour could extend internationally, but as of now only U.S. dates are set.

The press conference will stream live next Monday on Live Nation’s website.
KISS and Def Leppard have combined album sales of more than 200 million.

Mexico stops heavy metal concert, draws fire
MEXICO CITY — A Mexican state’s decision to cancel a two-day heavy metal concert with top bands like Kiss, Twisted Sister and Guns ‘N Roses is drawing fire from fans and organizers, who say they suspect that political motives, corruption or discrimination are behind the move.

The Mexico state government says the March 15-16 “Hell and Heaven Metal Fest” concert planned for a fairground just east of Mexico City did not have adequate safety plans, posing a risk to concert-goers. The web pages of all three of the metal bands still showed the concert on their tour schedules.

KISS VINYL RELEASES TO INCLUDE ALL ORIGINAL INSERTS
Shopradiocast postet the following infos about the upcoming new Kiss vinyl releases:
Celebrating four decades of decibels, KISS, Mercury Records and UMe proudly announce reissuing the legendary KISS albums on 180g audiophile vinyl starting on April 1, 2014. To kick off this momentous occasion, ten albums will be back on glorious sounding vinyl for the first time since as far back as 1985. Remastered to high definition 192kHz/24-bit audio for maximum fidelity, these albums have never sounded so amazing and now vinyl collectors will get what they've been demanding. All posters, sleeve art, stickers, etc that appeared in the original LP release where applicable have been faithfully reproduced for the KISS Army.

The releases seem to be pushed back a little bit. "Psycho Circus" is expected to be released on April 22nd now according to Amazon.com. The next batch should be released a few weeks later (Love Gun, Creatures of the night, Asylum & MTV Unplugged).

There should be 3 different versions released: US-version, international version and the censored German version.
According to brandnew information from Universal Music Austria the international version will be released in Austria (& Europe) in 4 batches:
batch 1: March 28
batch 2: May 2
batch 3: May 23
batch 4: June 20
