WHO THINKS KISS SHOULD BE IN THE HALL OF FAME? KISS, FOR ONE

With the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s 2012 induction ceremony coming up in April, one of the stars of the rock band Kiss says he continues to be perplexed by the fact that his band has yet to be voted in.

Kiss lead singer and guitarist Paul Stanley said he considers the fact that Kiss hasn’t made it, despite the fact that the band has been eligible since 1999, a slight to the band’s fans. “I know that it’s important to a lot of the fans. Certainly if we were to get inducted, I would accept it on behalf of the fans, because it matters to them,” Stanley said. “But I don’t need validation from an organization where I don’t even know who is doing the voting.”

SONISPHERE FESTIVAL 2012 RUMOURED TO BE CANCELLED

The web has been ripe with rumours that this years Sonisphere will be cancelled.
Queen posted a statement on their website earlier this afternoon regretfully confirming the rumours. This statement has since been removed, but it is not looking good for the festival and its ticket holders.
No official announcement has been made by Sonisphere or festival promoter Kilimanjaro as of yet, but we expect a full statement tomorrow. The links to buy tickets from the Sonisphere website have been removed.

Gene is a rock and roll legend, and a reality TV star. Now, his latest venture is a new restaurant chain going global called Rock and Brews....
The upcoming tour, simply titled "The Tour" starts rockin' July 20 in Bristow, Virginia...and scheduled to wrap up on September 23 in Hartford, Connecticut.
Although the bands are officially co-headlining the tour, Motley Crue will open for KISS each night.

"ROCK'N ROLL HALL OF FAME HAS BECOME A JOKE" CLAIMS GENE SIMMONS

Outspoken KISS frontman Gene Simmons has slammed the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame today, ahead of Guns N’ Roses and the Beastie Boys’ induction this April.

Simmons is seemingly unhappy that after 40million album sales, a 40 year career, and concerts in almost every country in the world, his band have yet to be inducted – and has told the Rolling Stone that he thinks the Hall of Fame is a ‘joke’ – with his bandmate Paul Stanley adding that they were ‘really scrounging and scratching to find someone left that they consider viable’, after the recent number of non-rock bands that have found their way into the Hall of Fame.

KISS SET TO ANNOUNCE TOUR PLANS ON TUESDAY

Hey, Kiss Army members -- get ready to head back into battle!  The band is just about ready to unveil its plans for a summer tour.  Speaking with ABC News Radio on the "black carpet" last week during the grand opening of the new Kiss by Monster Mini Golf attraction in Las Vegas, lead guitarist Tommy Thayer revealed, "We're gonna make a huge announcement about the tour [on] Tuesday."  The rocker also said that the trek will be kicking off in July, "probably on the East Coast somewhere."

Singer/guitarist Paul Stanley, meanwhile, declared that the "tour's gonna be phenomenal," adding, "We'll do at least 40 shows on the first leg in America."

A counter at the top of the main page KissOnline.com seems to suggest that the big announcement will be taking place at 5 p.m. ET.

He said he knows nothing about a Kiss/Mötley Crüe Co- headline tour (but had to laugh, well you can win tickets here already), but confirmed that Kiss will do a press-conference next week and that Kiss will be going on tour for 40 dates. The album will be out sometime in the summer and a single will be out sooner, but they still don't know which one. He also said that the new album probably won't get distributed through Wal-Mart this time.

KISS PROMOTION STARTS: LOTS OF KISS APPEARANCES!
Kiss are getting prepared to do monster promotion for their "Monster" album and tour. According to the Las Vegas Sun these are their upcoming activities:

*On April 1, in full makeup, they will be back in Las Vegas arriving on the red carpet in a Monster truck to present Best Vocal Group at the 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards at MGM Grand Garden Arena.

*On April 2, they’ll perform in New Orleans at the NCAA Final Four game.

*On April 9, they’ll perform two songs on the new season of “Dancing With the Stars” on ABC. (Don’t think Las Vegas resident Gladys Knight will samba to the songs.)

*In one month, they start filming a KISS movie with Mark Johnson of the “Narnia” films producing.

*In May, Season 9 of Gene’s “Family Jewels” begins and a 10th renewal looks definite for filming this fall for 2013.

*Their nearly three-month dual headline tour with Motley Crue starts July 19 and includes a stop here, as we reported in a Vegas DeLuxe interview with Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil.

*This fall, they’ll host yet another of their weeklong KISS-abean cruises in the Bahamas over Halloween with thousands of fans already booked.

KISS/MÖTLEY CRÜE CO-HEADLINE TOUR STARTS JULY!
Vince Neil revealed in an interview with the Las Vegas Sun, that Mötley Crüe will be going on tour with Kiss:

Vince also told me that he will be back on tour twice this year with Motley Crue, first in Europe with Tommy Lee, Nikki Sixx and Mick Mars, then co-headlining with KISS from July through September on a massive U.S. tour. Expect the official announcement from L.A. next week, but you’re reading it here first!

“It’s going to be really cool because KISS is bringing their full stage show, and Motley will be bringing our full stage show, so you are going to see two huge headliners at the same time. It’s going to be one of the biggest tours of the summer, if not the biggest.”

GENE SIMMONS OPENING CRAFT BEER SPOT

The guy who gave us "Cold Gin" now wants to give us craft beer.

Gene Simmons, the long-tongued rocker who plays bass and sort of sings in the rock band Kiss, is opening a rock-themed restaurant in the Los Angeles area that will replicate the atmosphere of a rock concert and place a big emphasis on craft beer. (And here I thought the two were mutually exclusive.)

Rock & Brews is slated to open April 3 in El Segundo, Calif. An announcement from the restaurant says it "serves rock musicians' favorite foods and highlights an ever-changing, award-winning craft beer selection with hundreds of artisanal breweries featured from around the world." More than 40 beers will be on tap, with hundreds more in bottles and cans.

HOLY CRAP! REMEMBER... KISS MEETS THE PHANTOM OF THE PARK?

Ah, nostalgia! Be it that old cartoon, a favorite toy or a comic book from days gone by, isn’t it great, when out of the blue, the memories come flooding back, and you’ve no choice but to exclaim ”Holy Crap! Remember…?”

Guilty pleasure alert: I love KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park. Sure, I’m younger than the average KISS fan by about 25 years, but I can’t help it. My first vinyl albums (Google it, kids) were KISS hand-me-downs. To put it mildly, KISS kicks ass. They’ve endured for decades thanks to their spectacular stage shows and the awesome power of their rock. That’s just science. Most people, especially in the comic community, are aware that in the height of their popularity, KISS was featured in a Marvel comic book and they mixed some of their blood into the ink. It’s one of those “that has to be fake” stories that is 100% true.

HAUTE EVENT: NICK SIMMONS CELEBRATES HIS 23RD BIRTHDAY AT HYDE

Last night, Nick Simmons from “Gene Simmons Family Jewels” celebrated his 23rd birthday at Hyde Bellagio.

The event was family affair for the Simmons’ clan. The writer and aspiring musician was joined at the nightclub by his KISS rocker dad Gene Simmons, Playboy Playmate mom Shannon Tweed and sister Sophie Simmons.

The family posed playfully together on the red carpet outside of the club before heading inside and settling into a VIP booth overlooking the crowded nightclub.

Later in the night, Simmons got on stage with the house band from The Sayers Club in Los Angeles.

MOVIE ABOUT WHEN KISS CAME TO CADILLAC COULD FILM IN MICHIGAN

It's one of the great stories in the history of either rock bands or small cities. And now a movie inspired by the legendary two days in 1975 that Kiss spent bonding with the citizens of Cadillac could be made in Michigan.

"Cadillac High," a feature film project, has received conditional approval for the state's film incentives. It expects to spend about $27 million in Michigan and would receive slightly more than $8 million in incentives, according to the Michigan Film Office's 2011 annual report.

SEATTLE -- A broken-down brown and cream-colored van that is covered in graffiti and has not been moved since 1998 is attracting the interest of grunge music fans after being listed for sale on eBay.

The "Melvan," one of the first touring vans of Seattle band The Melvins, features a sketch on the side of rock band KISS that was drawn by grunge rocker and Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain.

"CADILLAC HIGH" WINS CONDITIONAL INCENTIVES TO SHOOT KISS MOVIE IN MICHIGAN

"Cadillac High," a feature film based on the KISS's 1975 celebratory tour to the city of Cadillac, has received conditional approval for incentives to shoot the movie in Michigan.

KISS REEL TO REEL TAPES
In the '70s Kiss albums used to be available in the format of an audio cassette and vinyl LP. In the USA they were also available on 8-track and reel to reel tapes. The most unusual format was "reel to reel". Alive!, Destroyer, Rock and Roll Over, Love Gun, Alive II, Double Platinum and Dynasty were available as reel to reel tapes and they are all currently listed on eBay.

ARCHIE MEETS KISS, GET YOUR NERD ON

In May, 2012  the four ‘Archie Meets Kiss’ comic books will be compiled into one book.
Kiss will finish off their work in Riverdale with a 112 page hardcover edition. The town is overrun by monsters and Kiss are back to save the day. Apparently monsters have no chance of winning when they are up against the immortal power of rock.

Kiss’ Gene Simmons has written the forward for the comic book. The story was written by Alex Sugura with cover by Dan Parent.

‘Archie Meets Kiss’ in hardback and paperback will be released on May 1, 2012. The hardcover edition will include an extra 48 pages not found in the paperback.
