KISS TO PLAY GRAND FALLS-WINDSOR

A source close to KISS has confirmed the rock band will perform in Grand Falls-Windsor this summer.

KISS is expected to perform July 9.

When contacted by The Telegram, officials with the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor would neither confirm nor deny the legendary rockers will be performing. However, rumours to that effect have been circulating around the town for a couple of weeks

It is expected the town will make the announcement at the Herder game Saturday night.

It’s also rumoured that lead singer Gene Simmons, his partner Whitbourne native Shannon Tweed, and their two children will be filming episodes of their reality show “Gene Simmons’ Family Jewels” while in the province. Tweed has previously said she hasn’t been back to Newfoundland in more than 20 years, and the children, Nick and Sophie, have never been to the province.

The family is currently in Israel, filming for the show in Simmons’ hometown.

KISS has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide, and saw the height of their fame in the late 1970s, with songs like “Rock and Roll All Nite” and “Beth.” Simmons and guitarist Paul Stanley are the only original KISS members remaining in the band, which also features drummer Eric Singer and guitarist Tommy Thayer.

Simmons continues to make a career from business deals using the band’s logo on everything from toothbrushes to snowboards, and is a frequent guest speaker at marketing and branding conferences.

ERIC SINGER PROJECT RETURNS TO EUROPE

ESP played an awesome gig last night here in Helsinki at Nosturi. They played a lot of Kiss stuff here and also some surprises and tributes to Dio
and Gary Moore, we heard Long Live Rock and Roll and Shapes Of Things which were like tributes.
Also there was a meet and greet party and soundcheck for 20 lucky people and Eric answered to our questions about the new album and Sabbath singers and so on.
He did not know anything about new album,  so he could not answer anything about new songs, only that Gene has view demos already.

ESP IN EUROPE
The ESP European tour started yesterday in Norway. Here you can see some footage from yesterdays concert.
At the Expo Eric said, that they will be going into the studio on April 4th and it may take up to 3 months to record and finish the album. He also doesn't know yet, if he is going to sing lead on any songs on the new album.

GENE ON REUNION AND NEW ALBUM

KISS bass/vocalist Gene Simmons spoke with DJ JC Green of Alfa Rock 105.7 FM and Metal Messiah Radio's Heavy Metal Thunder program this week to promote their March 12th show at Coliseo de Puerto Rico in Hato Rey. Simmons spoke about the band's follow-up to Sonic Boom and answered the burning question - will the original line-up (Simmons, frontman Paul Stanley, guitarist Ace Frehley, drummer Peter Criss) reunite once again? Excerpts from the chat follow:

Simmons on new album: "The new record, which we already started working on - we start recording in three weeks - is going to be the next step to Sonic Boom. Very similar, straight rock songs, no ballads, no keyboards, no nothing, just rock. We have brand new songs that we've been writing. We've been writing a lot and there's some very good material and that's what we are going to record. A lot of the songs have been written by the whole band together, so no outside writers, just the band doing what it did on the first three records; write the songs ourselves. Once you know who you are are and how you breath - because every song is like an animal - you try to bring life to the song so it becomes real. Once you know who you are, it's easy to do - just do what the animal does without thinking about what's popular, what a producer would do. You just do it like you would naturally do it. We have almost all the songs written. In fact we have too many songs; about 20-25 things that look and sound good. It's a very busy time, but the album is going to take precedence."

Simmons on a reunion with the original band members: "There will be one more time that we will play together. Some time in the future there will be a last show. Sometime in the future we'll be in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame. There will be one more time when we do it together to honour the beginning. But you know when you run a long-distance race, not everyone can run a long race. Some people are only good for the beginning of the race. They don't have the passion and the will, the endurance. Not everyone can run a long distance race."

GENE PLANNING RETURN TO ISRAEL

Rocker Gene Simmons is heading back to Israel for the first time in more than 50 years to explore his Jewish roots.

The KISS star, born Chaim Witz, emigrated to America with his mother Flora, a Holocaust survivor, at the age of eight after his parents divorced, and he has never returned.

But the 61-year-old is now planning a trip with his wife, former Playboy model Shannon Tweed, as part of his reality TV show Gene Simmons Family Jewels, according to the New York Post.

The bass player will visit the hospital where he was born, in Haifa, and he hopes to be reunited with long-lost relatives, and meet the half-siblings and cousins he has never known.

He will also tour the Tel Aviv and Jerusalem during the trip.

ACE/TOMMY BANNER FIASCO RESOLVED

Our KISSasylum.com reporter and good friend Jerry down in the Tampa / St Pete Florida area was finally able to send us the last image in the series of the ongoing Tommy / Ace banner mix-up drama. As Jerry reported to us earlier, the promoters of the Ace Frehley post game concert set for March 11 mistakenly put the wrong Spaceman on the banners surrounding the stadium. Sure, Tommy looks great in the shot, but he will not be the one making an appearance that day! Upon realizing this, the banner had been quickly taken down for several days leaving a noticeable void. Finally on Monday the proper replacement had been made and all is once again well in the Universe.

Thanks to Jerry for staking out the arena day after day to give us this series of photographs covering this somewhat amusing debacle.

JAPANESE TOUR NOW OFFICIALLY POSTPONED
It is now officially confirmed, that Kiss will postpone the Japanese tour. Tickets will not go on sale on March 12th, the new dates will be announced later.

Season 1 ist available for about 3,20 Euros.


Even the exclusive Amazon Collector's Edition of Season 1 (which has originally cost $ 45,-) is now available for about 9,30 Euros.
It includes 4 DVD's, a Photo Album and 2 unrealaesed songs from Gene.
