Original KISS guitarist Ace Frehley will conclude the Lightning Concert Series presented by Volkswagen with a show after the Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Ottawa Senators game on Friday, March 11 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be held outdoors on the West Plaza stage immediately following the game.

According to KissAsylum.com, a banner advertising Frehley's post-game performance features a photo of Tommy Thayer — not Ace — as the "Spaceman." Check out the banner here.

PETER CRISS 1984 "LOST TV INTERVIEW" SURFACES TO PROMOTE AUCTIONS
A long-lost 27-year local TV interview of Peter Criss and his longtime band mate Stan Penridge in Nashville, Tennessee has surfaced to promote a series of Hard Rock/Heavy Metal themed auctions from eBay seller EliteWorks.

Peter and Stan had joined a local Tennessee band called Desperate Men and performed a one-off gig in Nashville on June 9, 1984.

Several one-of-a-kind KISS collectibles are featured in the auctions, including an early vinyl pressing of Destroyer with the 36-year old "Hype Sticker," a KISS roadie's Summer 76 personal photo collection, vintage ticket stubs and handbills as well as Peter Criss's personal business card.

REMEMBERING THE GREAT GARY MOORE

Eric Singer of Kiss:
I had the Pleasure to play drums with Gary on his 1987 Wild Frontier tour.
I joined Gary's band via Bob Daisley. We had recorded together with Black Sabbath on the Eternal Idol album. Bob arranged the audition in London in January of 1987. We soon began rehearsals for what would become one of Gary's most successful tours ever. I remember we would practice everyday at John Henry Studios in London. Bob and Neil Carter lived in Brighton and would have to leave in time to make their train home. Gary and I would sometimes stay on and jam. Just drums & guitar. We would play Thin Lizzy tunes or just jam endlessly as Gary never ran out of ideas when it came to soloing! He would also play those legendary guitars back then. The "Peter Green" 1958 Les Paul and his "Pink Salmon" 1962 Fender Stratocaster. He of course did not take those on tour anymore as they had become much to rare & valuable. I have to say the one thing that always stood out to me about Gary was his absolute passion and intensity as a guitarist. This man played every song and note like it was the last time he would ever play it. And therefore demanded and expected the same from his band. I have to admit he could be a bit tough on drummers. But he only asked for and expected what he himself gave to music. And that was complete commitment every time you played with him. He inspired me to want to play up to his level every night. I will always thank him for the opportunity he gave me to play with him. He really was a Brilliant musician. And I always felt like he helped take me to another level as a drummer & musician. It was an experience and an education I will never forget and take with me everywhere I go. God Bless You Gary Moore.

DID YOU KNOW...
... that it was common in Thailand in the '70s for independed companies to release 4-track EPs, which included 4 songs usually from different bands? Sometimes there was an artist on the cover, which was not even featured on the EP.

There were quite a few of those EP's that featured Kiss either on the record or on the cover. Some of them are currently listed on eBay:
For example the Thailandish "Kissin' time" single features pictures from someone else on the cover and the song is actually on side 2. It also featured 3 other songs from other bands. A very weird and very rare record:


There were also EP's that featured the Kiss solo albums, but none of those EP's actually featured a song of any Kiss member.

KISS STAGE SCENOGRAPHY IN 3D
(Bangkok, February 5th 2011): Serpent3D is truly excited presenting «Kiss stage scenography in 3D» as showcase for our newly established 3D visualization company.

After three months of research, modelling and programming we can now present the first animation in a series of three, highlighting the visual splendour of the Dynasty, Creatures of the Night and Love Gun stage sets. The purpose of these movies is showcasing the design, hydraulic features and lightning effects of these unforgettable stage productions.

Fans in the seventies and eighties had the opportunity to enter the magical world of Kiss enjoying the band in these environments which later has become an integral part of the bands myth and history.

Now, younger fans catching on to the hottest band in the world have the opportunity to see these stage sets in full action. Not only have we recreated the design down to the last nail; the surfaces used are also reflecting light in the same manner it was in reality.

Combining various software and techniques there are few limitations to the accuracy and realism which can be achieved. However, at this point the project stays a showcase for the company.

Kiss has been approached regarding the possibility of featuring the animation series on their website.

PETER CRISS TO RELEASE BOOK IN 2012

According to the Los Angeles Times, original KISS drummer Peter Criss has signed a deal with the Simon & Schuster imprint Scribner to publish his memoir, "Makeup To Breakup", in the fall of 2012. A press release promises, "From sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll to multiple brushes with death, 'Makeup To Breakup' will be Peter Criss' unvarnished and eye-opening life story."

Criss will write the book with the help of Larry "Ratso" Sloman.

"I am so blessed that I am finally going to write my autobiography, and I hope you enjoy the ride," Criss said in the release. "The best of all is I get to share my true feelings of my love for God, family, friends and fame. It's been a wonderful life."

While some men feel embarrassed because of "this macho crap," Criss told CNN surviving breast cancer was actually a blessing. He was treated before the tumor could spread and said he was speaking about male breast cancer to raise the profile of this rare disease.

Criss, who played drums for KISS and was known as "Catman," offered this advice to men who spot lumps in their breast: "Don't sit around playing Mr. Tough Guy. Don't say 'It's going to go away.' It might not and you might not see life anymore and how beautiful that is."

Criss, who is currently working on a new rock album, told Reuters his bout with cancer had affected his songwriting.

"My lyrics are not so deep and dismal," he said. One of the tracks on the album, expected next year, is called "Hard Rock Knockers".

Kiss Army Finland has just announced that Eric Singer project will be playing at Nosturi, Helsinki, in March 27 2011!
Also Nosturi`s team has confirmed that news.
This is their second gig at Nosturi, they have played there earlier in December 2009.
